Our low season runs from May to October, and this can be a great time to pick up a bargain for those who can move quickly.
The main road in Koh Samet goes from Nadan Pier to the National Park entrance just before Haad Saikaew, this means the road generates heavy foot and taxi traffic from those arriving to the island, making it an ideal spot for retail businesses.
Over the past few years there has been gradual development of shop units along the road, and generally the best opportunities are those that are more run down, which are becoming less and less. The rental yield returns can be excellent and there is no shortage of renters looking to start businesses such as shops, restaurants, massage or bars. There are some Koh Samet hotels for sale located on and near this road, please get in contact if you are interested.
Both rental and sale prices have been increasing year on year, and I expect that trend will continue. We just put out a shop unit for rent and had numerous offers within the first day, so it appears business is booming on the main road.
